On November 4, 2019, Green and Spiegel Associate Attorney Jacquelyn Ruiz and her colleague Zachary Lyons of Roberto Gonzalez Law Office partnered up with the Human Rights Asylum Clinic at Brown University to give a Know Your Rights Presentation.

The audience consisted of the current graduating class of Navegantes at Clinica Esperanza in Providence, Rhode Island. The Navegantes Program provides essential trainings to bilingual community health workers who provide services to foreign nationals and refugees in the areas of immigration case management, outreach, health education, advocacy, and medical interpreting.
The discussion focused on the various approaches for foreign nationals who find themselves interacting with ICE officers and the many consequences of today’s changing landscape of immigration laws when applying for immigration relief.
“It was an honor to provide crucial information to the future community health workers of Rhode Island who are out there every day battling the immigration system in a powerful way and providing essential services to those in need” stated Jacquelyn, one of Green and Spiegel’s several Spanish-speaking attorneys who delivered the presentation.
