The Government of Canada has just announced that Start-up Visa (SUV) Program applicants who are deemed to be “essential” will now be eligible to apply for open work permits with a duration of up to three years.
In the absence of any further steps taken by IRCC, the future of the SUV measures introduced at Collision 2023 becomes questionable as we start Q3 of 2024.
Further to the latest measures implemented by IRCC, the official policy, procedures and guidance used by IRCC staff when assessing a Start-up Visa application have also been updated.
