ATTENTION EMPLOYERS- UNTIL THE NEW VERSION OF THE FORM I-9 IS AVAILABLE, USE THE JULY 17, 2017 VERSION

The current version of the Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification (“Form I-9”) is dated July 17, 2017.  Employers using the form will note that it expires on August 31, 2019.  United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) advises that the expiration date of this version is indefinitely extended.

Form I-9 is used by all U.S. employers to verify the employment eligibility of employees hired after November 6, 1986.  Form I-9 compliance is an important employer legal obligations and failure to properly execute the form can lead to significant fines and negative media publicity.
