Joanne D’Souza is an Articling Student at Green and Spiegel LLP in Toronto. Joanne assists clients with all aspects of immigration law in Canada. Joanne is particularly interested in litigation and the intersection of immigration law with other areas and issues, including criminal law and economic development.
Joanne recently graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School. While in school, Joanne volunteered with immigration and refugee law organizations. Joanne spent her summers working with Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust in Dhaka, UNICEF in Bangkok and the Canadian Civil Liberties Association in Toronto. Joanne also completed Osgoode’s Anti-Discrimination Intensive Program, which included a placement at the Human Rights Legal Support Centre and co-led the Osgoode chapters of the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers, the Feminist Collective and the South Asian Law Students Association.
Prior to law school, Joanne worked with various federal and provincial government bodies in a policy and analysis capacity. Joanne graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Public Affairs and Policy Management from Carleton University, and specialized in International Development Studies.
