Dena Hamat is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, having earned a Law Degree from the University of Ottawa in 2012. She also holds a Master of Arts Degree in International Affairs from Carleton University and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) from Dalhousie University. She is an active member of the Ontario Bar Association and has chaired conferences organized by its Young Lawyers Division.
Dena has experience in a variety of areas of immigration law, including: humanitarian applications, family re-unification cases, work permit applications, inadmissibility cases and appeals at the Immigration Appeal Division and Federal Court of Canada. Prior to joining Green and Spiegel, Dena worked as legal counsel for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. During this time she developed a strong understanding of Canadian immigration policy and procedure.
