Today, the Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced a second Express Entry draw within 24 hours for candidates involved in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
Today’s draw (161) was held at 11:10:05 UTC. 3,300 candidates that had a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 454 received an invitation to apply (ITA), an increase of 9 points compared to the previous CEC draw held on July 23rd, 2020.
Today’s draw brings the total number of ITAs issued in 2020 to 65,750. This signifies that despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Government of Canada is continuing to select skilled workers for permanent residence.
IRCC applied its tie-breaking rule with the timestamp of July 27, 2020, at 17:05:11 UTC. If more than one eligible candidate had the minimum CRS score, only those who submitted their Express Entry profiles before this date and time received invitations.
