Today, the Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced an Express Entry draw for candidates involved in the Provincial Nomination Program (PNP).
Today’s draw (153) was held at 11:24:10 UTC. 392 candidates that had a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 696 received an invitation to apply (ITA). A decrease of 47 points compared to the previous Provincial Nominee Program draw held on June 10th.
The CRS score may seem high but candidates with a provincial nomination receive an additional 600 CRS points which explain the spike in required points for the PNP.
Today’s draw brings the total number of ITAs issued in 2020 to 46,392. This signifies that despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Government of Canada is committed to reaching its immigration targets for 2020.
IRCC applied its tie-breaking rule with the timestamp of April 23, 2020, at 10:39:30 UTC. This simply means that all candidates with a CRS score of 696 or above, and previous candidates with a score of 696 or above who entered their profile in the Express Entry pool before the selected tie-breaking date and time will receive an invitation in this round.
