Today Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held its 21st consecutive Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw. IRCC sent 636 invitations to apply (ITAs) to candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 752 or higher. The CRS score decreased by 44 points compared to the previous PNP draw held on June 8th, 2022.

The PNP aligns with the federal Express Entry system. Candidates who receive a provincial nomination automatically obtain an additional 600 CRS points. The program is designed for workers who have the skills, education and work experience to contribute to the economy of a specific province or territory. Each province and territory has their own “streams” which may vary depending on the province’s needs.

2021 was the first year in the history of Express Entry where no Federal Skilled Worker Program candidates were invited to apply for permanent residence. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Canada’s travel restrictions, IRCC shifted the focus of draws to the Canadian Experience Class and the Provincial Nominee Program, as candidates from these streams were more likely to already be in Canada. However, IRCC recently announced that all-program draws will continue in July 2022.

IRCC applied its tie-breaking rule with the timestamp of April 19th, 2022 at 13:45:45 UTC, meaning candidates with a score of 752 or higher are invited to apply if they had submitted their Express Entry profile before the tie-breaking rule.
