The Government of Canada has now released its official Order in Council with respect to the COVID-19 travel measures. In addition to the information previously known, section 3(d) of the Order appears to allow for a case-by-case exemption for immediate family members seeking to be reunited with their loved ones in Canada. This will be most useful for foreign nationals including work and study permit holders who have immediate family outside of Canada. A specific application must be made to the local Consulate and written permission received. If you are affected by this or know someone who is, please contact Green and Spiegel for more information and legal assistance.
