U.S. Embassies and Consulates Unable to Issue Travel Documents Due to Computer Glitch

June 15, 2015 – The U.S. State Department has announced that a technical problem with its Consular Consolidated Database has left its embassies and consulates unable to print visas, passports and other travel documents. It is not known when the technical problem will be resolved.

Who is affected?

Immigrant visa processing and passport issuance at consulates abroad have been suspended. U.S. citizens abroad will be unable to be issued passports until the problem is resolved.

In addition, foreign nationals who have submitted non-immigrant visa applications or had visa interviews on or after June 9 should expect delays with their applications.

Green and Spiegel will continue to monitor this situation and will provide updates as warranted.
