Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has released two 10-minute videos available on the CIC website (cic.gc.ca) that will assist newcomers before and during their first few weeks in Canada, Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Minister, Jason Kenney, announced today.
The “Before Arriving in Canada” stresses the importance of bringing proper identity documents and having them properly translated, among several other recommendations.
The “Your First Two Weeks in Canada” video emphasizes the importance of obtaining a Social Insurance Number and contacting a local settlement agency to assist in finding employment.
The new videos are intended to complement other tools recently designed by the Government of Canada to assist immigrants with settling in Canada.
