Quebec Announces Application Quotas for Skilled Worker, Entrepreneur /Self-Employed and Investor Programs

March 31, 2014 – The Ministère de l’Immigration et des Communautés culturelles (MICC) has announced its application quotas for the year beginning April 1, 2014 through March 31, 2015 in the Skilled Worker, Entrepreneur/Self Employed and Immigrant Investor Programs. The MICC will accept 500 applications under the Entrepreneur/Self Employed program and a further 6,500 applications under the Skilled Worker Program. The Skilled Worker program cap does not apply to applicants through the Quebec Experience Program, or to those holding valid student permits or validated job offers. In addition, the MICC will accept a total of 1,750 applicants through its Immigrant Investor program, though only a total of 1,200 applications will be accepted from any single country. The Quebec Immigrant Investor Program is presently the only remaining investor program since the Federal Government announced its intention to terminate the Program’s federal counterpart. Applications for the Immigrant Investor Program will be accepted between September 8, 2014 and September 19, 2014. Should the quota not be reached, a second round of applications will be accepted between December 1, 2014 and December 12, 2014. Certain applications will be exempted from both the quota and date requirements, including those investors who score B-2 and higher on a French language test
