U.S. Senator Ted Cruz is “a Canadian” says Green and Spiegel partner Stephen Green in a recent article of the Globe and Mail. The Texas Republic Senator, who is being touted as a possible presidential candidate for 2016, recently released his birth certificate indicating he was born in Calgary Alberta to an American mother. Under the U.S. Constitution, only natural born U.S. citizens may become President. Some, including Senator Cruz, argue that because his mother was a U.S. citizen, he became a U.S. citizen at birth.
