November 17, 2015 ? The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) announced that it has reached its limit of 2,500 applications for the base stream. As a result, the OINP will not issue any additional nominations in the base stream until January 4, 2016.

The base stream includes the Master?s and PhD streams, the International Student with Job Offer stream, and the Foreign Worker stream.

The OINP Express Entry streams for French Speaking Professionals and Human Capital Priorities remain open.

Applicants who have already submitted an application for the OINP base stream but who have not yet received a decision will have their applications finalized in 2016.

Applicants whose employer pre-screen applications have already been approved may submit their corresponding nominee application under the Foreign Worker and International Student with a Job Offer streams.

No new employer pre-screen applications will be accepted until January 4, 2015.

The OINP was created to allow the province of Ontario to actively manage immigrant selection in accordance with Ontario priorities and needs. OINP runs two streams: the base stream, and an Express Entry stream.? Citizenship and Immigration Canada sets an annual nomination target for all Ontario streams. Only the OINP base stream has reached its quota.
