Sonia Akilov is an associate with Green and Spiegel LLP in Toronto, Ontario. Sonia holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Science and Law & Society from York University and a Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School. Sonia was called to the Ontario Bar in 2012. Prior to joining Green and Spiegel LLP, Sonia spent several years practicing with one of Canada’s largest corporate immigration law firms where she represented Fortune 500 multinational organizations from a variety of industries, including finance, information technology, oil & gas, engineering, pharmaceutical, and retail.
Sonia practices in all areas of Canadian immigration and can assist clients with a variety of matters including compliance reviews, temporary and permanent residency applications as well as applications for citizenship. Sonia also represents clients in family class applications and appeals; federal skilled worker applications; Canadian experience class applications; provincial nominee applications; humanitarian and compassionate applications, enforcement and admissibility matters, Immigration Appeal Division hearings and Federal Court litigation.
Sonia is able to assist clients in Hebrew and Russian.
