CRISTINA GUIDA, B.A. (Hons), J.D.
Cristina Guida is an associate with Green and Spiegel LLP in Toronto, Ontario. Cristina holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Sociology from York University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa. Cristina was called to the Ontario Bar in 2014. Prior to joining Green and Spiegel LLP Cristina worked for the immigration enforcement branch of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).
Cristina practices in all areas of Canadian immigration and can assist clients with a variety of matters including temporary applications such as, work permit applications and study permit applications, as well as applications for permanent residency and citizenship. Cristina also specializes in enforcement and admissibility matters, including, deferrals, criminal rehabilitation applications, temporary resident permit applications, as well as, admissibility hearings, detention review hearings, Immigration Appeal Division hearings and Federal Court litigation.
Professional Activities & Affiliations
Cristina is fluent in Italian and is a member of the Canadian Italian Advocates Organization (CIAO) Association. While at the University of Ottawa, Cristina volunteered with REACH Canada, a lawyer referral program that assists persons with disabilities in dealing with their legal issues. Cristina also interned with a criminal law firm in Toronto where she assisted Counsel for the Association in Defence of the Wrongly Convicted (AIDWYC) in a wrongful conviction appeal. Cristina is a member in good standing with the Law Society of Upper Canada, as well as a member of the Immigration Section of the Ontario Bar Association, and Canadian Bar Association.
