U.S. Immigration
Overview
Few firms in Canada have the knowledge and expertise of Green and Spiegel in the field of U.S. immigration. Evan Green was chairman of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (Canada Chapter 1998-1999) and he heads this department. Also assisting in U.S. immigration matters are Ravi Jain, who holds a Masters of Law from the University of Michigan, and Tim Golden, who is called to the Bar of Massachusetts.
In this area, the firm handles such matters as intracompany transfers of senior management staff to the United States, a full range of temporary visas, permanent resident status, permanent resident status, labour certification and waiver applications.
The firm represents, as agent, a number of American law firms, particularly as liaison with American Consulates in Canada, and has established a network of associated American law firms and agents to provide local representation throughout the United States if required by clients. This has allowed the firm to establish links with many leading U.S. Immigration firms.
In addition, our firm is well versed on the intricacies and difficulties faced by aliens when attempting to enter the United States. The North American Free Trade Agreement is supposed to allow easy access for Canadians to the U.S. market. However, there are many key nuances involved in order to make the transfers and border crossings seamless.
Our firm is well versed in all aspects of these intricacies. U.S. Immigration Law is ever changing and keeping up with the changes allows our firm to represent people in all their U.S. immigration issues.
